Parish Package: Digital Chant Stand (DCS)

  1. Digital Chant Stand (DCS)

  2. DCS Website

  3. DCS app for iPad

  4. DCS app for Android

1. DCS is the web based interface that provides access to the client’s library. It has two functions. 1) It is the index for all texts and media. Texts are either in HTML or PDF documents. Media refers to musical scores in PDF and MP3 audio recordings. 2) DCS is the user interface for Digital Chant Stand, which displays HTML texts of both static and pre-compiled services with links to associated media.

2. Each client will have a DCS website that is deployed and maintained by AGES. This can be hosted on the AGES server or locally by the client. It can be integrated into the client’s existing website. The client may choose to restrict access to their AGES website. This is particularly important if the client’s library includes proprietary or protected materials. (AGES does not currently provide restricted access.) The DCS website is optimized for Chrome or Safari browsers only. It is OS-agnostic, which means that it runs on Windows, Mac and Linux, and it is configured to run on both iOS and Android phones and devices. Clients will be provided with credentials to access their specific library.

3. The DCS app for iPad (iOS 7) has all the functionality of the DCS website, with the added ability to download and cache texts and media for access offline. This is particularly useful, since many churches do not yet have wifi. Clients will be provided with credentials to access their specific library.

4. App for Android.
